Our Very Own Garden

FINALLY, after many years of wanting to have my own garden at my own house, we made it happen! As part of our house purge we cleaned the back yard, side yard, and front yard. The back yard belongs to the boys and Savanna. It has their swing set, trampoline, and an aspiring pumpkin patch. The front yard is Emma's complete with grass and her little tot play set and slides (and her mounds and mounds of rocks!). The garage is James' "Man Area" complete with a big screen TV, electronic dartboard, and all his workout equipment and tools. And the side yard is ALL MINE! This may seem like I got the short end of the stick but I am completely happy that we all have areas we love that fit our personalities and interests.

With some cinder blocks, planter soil, and starter plants we transformed this weed-invested trash can area into a tranquil garden. It works out so lovely because my three living room windows look out on this garden and it is completely fenced off from the children and dog. No is allowed in this sacred area unless they are invited and accompanied by ME. It's awesome, and I love it. :)

Laying down gopher wire- those critters will not get my goods!

We planted tomatoes, cucumbers, basil, parsley, bell pepper, strawberries, dill, mint, jalapenos, asparagus, romaine, butter leaf, cilantro, pumpkins, and arugula. Not too bad for a day's work!

 AFTER- Our Pumpkin Patch

Emma loves the trampoline. She loves to jump on it and play under it!

She also loves the red wagon and her buddy "Wad-Dee" (aka Marley).
