Emma Lily

Emma is growing so fast. She is getting very tall and starting to do all sorts of things- draw (mostly on the walls or books or anything else she can find before someone notices her), climb, dance, sing, identify most of her body parts and everyone else's (Watch out! She is known to say eye and then poke you right in the eye before you have a chance to move! Luckily I wear glasses most of the time.), put on her own shoes, and chatter. Even with her limited vocabulary she understands everything you tell her. She will go get things if you ask, answer yes or no to questions, tell you when she is hungry (she still says, "Mmmm Mmmm" when she is hungry), and she has even been telling me when she needs to go potty (and has actually used her potty seat twice!).

She is becoming much more independent but she still lets us cuddle her a lot so that works out great. She has a really cute Elmer Fudd type voice. My favorite things she says right now:

"Hewwo" (hello)
"Haiw" (hair)- she loves to brush her hair and her "teef"
"No way!" (I do realize this will not be cute for long, but it's pretty cute now!)
"Bwess Shew" (bless you)

Oh, she is such a doll! I will try to get some video of her talking soon. She doesn't like to perform. She is her own person, all right. :)

Her legs are so long that we finally turned her car seat forward facing. Up to this point she has absolutely hated the car. Traveling with her, even small distances, was miserable. But now she can see what is going and can see James or I in the rearview mirror, and she loves the car! It's so funny because whenever we drive I hear her little voice in the back saying, "Weeeee weeeee!" over and over again. A big improvement from the screaming!

Poor girl fell out of the van when we got to church last Sunday. I just reached down to grab something she had dropped and she tumbled out right onto her cute face. It was traumatic for both of us. Fortunately it is healing quickly and she has forgiven me. I'm still working on forgiving myself. :(

We have taken a little break from our big house purge but hope to get back on it this week. We did do a mini purge of our closet under the stairs. The kids called it the Harry Potter closet but really it just became a dark, deep pit for them to throw all their dress-up and crap in! We dug it all out and had them fill one tote with dress up. We put all of our seasonal totes, my china, and a few other things in there along with our vacuum and 72 hour kits. It is now an efficient and neat storage room (which I think was its original purpose)! This freed up even more room in our garage for the kids to play. As you can see, Emma was helping with this endeavor!

Emma loves my old, antique doll Patsy. Patsy is a little scary (and heavy) but Emma drags her all around and insists that Daddy puts Patsy to bed before he puts her down for a nap. :)

She still loves my shoes, and these red high heels are her favorite!

Emma still loves our dog. Here they are together at the dog park. Marley loves to dig. He would dig and Emma would stand over him throwing the dirt back into the hole (mostly on his head). They both needed a bath when we got home!
