Last of the Summer Activities

Summer is ending...school begins next week for all of our public schooled friends. Although we kind of school year round, we have been a little lax the last few weeks. We've had company, gone swimming, traveled a bit, played at the beach- the usual Summer faire.

The kids have been begging me to take them swimming all summer. Honestly, it just hasn't been hot enough here! But we found this cool public pool in Santa Maria, and they lasted about an hour before their teeth were chattering and their skin turned too blue!

Classic picture! Savanna was on Ben patrol. I watched Brad from the side with little Emma in my arms. She didn't go in the water. It was too cold, and there were way to many people. She was pretty entertained though.

My Mom, Aunt, and Uncle moved to Petaluma a little over a week ago. On a whim, we decided to drive up and say one last goodbye to them in Palmdale. We had a quick dinner, gave them hugs, and hopped back in the car!

We were able to stop by and say a quick hello to the Serrano's too that day. The boys played with Sofi, and Emma even napped. It was a miracle!!

Can you say "Cheese"??

The funny thing was that the day we drove down South to see my Mom, James' Mom and Sister decided to surprise us and came to our house! Well we weren't there, so they waited until we got home late that night and ended up staying for a couple of days! Here is Emma opening her birthday present from Grandma Kathleen.

I think she likes it!

The day after our company left, James and I celebrated our 9 year anniversary! It was really a wonderful day. We timed two dates during Emma's morning and afternoon naps, and Savanna played with the boys while she slept. During our morning date, we went to the Sycamore Springs Resort in Avila Beach and rented a mineral springs hot tub for an hour. It was very relaxing and romantic. The tubs are nestled in the mountainside, and we had a beautiful view from our private tub (This is where I wanted to go last year, but they wouldn't allow pregnant women in the tubs). Then we picked all the kids up and took them out to lunch with us. We put Emma down for her 2nd nap, and went to see Captain America. Then we came home, reorganized our house (again!), and watched a romantic comedy. A perfect day...I am a lucky woman, really!
