Our wonderful Bradley turned seven last Sunday. James was off so we all went to church together as a family. This is the first time we've been able to do that since Emma's blessing. I loved it. Bradley loved it too. Dad was able to see him give his talk in primary and everyone sang to him. It was very special.
After church we headed over to our friend's house who gave us a couch and a cool computer desk. I swear we score the coolest stuff! We went home, had a quick lunch, and then Bradley opened his presents: some nice new outfits and Star Wars Legos. The rest of the afternoon was spent playing Legos with Dad.
We took a break to eat Bradley's birthday dinner: Eggs Benedict, fruit salad, OJ, and strawberry shortcake (or our version anyway)!
This recipe was a big hit. It was a raw, vegan strawberry shortcake. It is basically made from nuts (we used almonds and cashews), dates, fresh strawberries, and honey. We topped it with blueberries, shredded coconut, and more fresh strawberry syrup. Bradley says he wants me to make it for him next year. I will try to put the complete recipe on the food blog. Even James said it was excellent. When you have the words raw, vegan, James, and excellent in the same sentence- that's a big deal!
We love you so much, Bradley James! We know you can't wait until next year to be baptized, but we are excited to share your seventh year with you until then!
