Savanna's 12th Birthday Bash!

Savanna turned twelve this past week, and man did she get spoiled! On her actual birthday we went to lunch, took her to the movies, and then had a family game night. Then on Saturday the whole family came up to celebrate with us. We had a really nice day. We went to the kids' soccer games, ate yummy food, listened to Savanna play her piano, played board games, watched "Enchanted," and had some really great entertainment (more on that later!). Everyone was relaxed and enjoyed each others' company. It was one of the best family gatherings we've had. Plus, Savanna made out (no big shock there)! She got a new set of scriptures, an MP3 player, some beautiful boots, a jewelry box, a sewing machine, money, a gift certificate, and a digital camera! Makes you want to be a kid again, doesn't it?

Yes, it's a Taco Bell tostado cake! She doesn't like cake, and we make cookies that were too small for candles...

Present Time!

And of course, Sofi Bella!

She was so smiley- as usual.

And more Sofi....

Okay, well, the absolute highlight of the birthday bash was the guest star appearance of "James Jonas," the long-lost brother of the other three famous Jonas Brothers. Now, let me give you a little background on this first (and, yes, this is kind of a "you had to be there" thing, so it probably won't come across extremely well- but it was SERIOUSLY funny!). As part of our home school, Savanna gets rewards or incentives for finishing school projects. One of her rewards recently was that she could pick any Jonas Bro. song and James (who is not a Jonas Bro. fan to say the least) would perform it at her party. Now, this tells you a lot about my husband. He is a great sport, and I really love that he doesn't care what people think about him- AT ALL! Hmmm...that didn't sound like the compliment I was intending. Honestly, he earned HUGE dad points here, and most likely will win the "dad of the year" award just for this one performance. :) The videos are a bit shaky because I was laughing uncontrollably!
