Ever since Ben learned that his friend Taryn could ride a bike without training wheels (and not only is she is girl, but she is younger than him!), he has been asking for James to take the training wheels off his bike. Bradley isn't quite sure he's ready to do that, so we took Ben out after church on Sunday to a nearby parking lot to give it a try. He did so great! He wasn't afraid at all. James was right there to catch the bike so he didn't have any bad spills and that helped too. Within about 20 minutes he was riding his bike unaided without training wheels for short periods of time. And, boy, was he proud of himself! There isn't anything much greater than a child going after a goal and witnessing his pure joy as he achieves it. Go Benjamin! You rock, Mister!
The trek to the lot. I think Ben got more of a workout pushing his bike the several blocks from our house to where we practiced!
And I'm quite certain James got the most exercise while Ben rode his bike!
James and Ben celebrate his first ride on his own!
Just starting out.
He's got it!
